I found this story quite compelling. It has very insightful character development, some interesting complications, and a very satisfying ending. One of my Ann Patchett favorites.

The biggest problem with an Ann Patchett novel is that it eventually ends. The next biggest is that other novels pale in contrast. Although this was not my favorite Patchett--both Bel Canto and The Dutch House top my list--there are…

This is not my favourite Ann Patchett novel - I preferred State of Wonder and The Dutch House and Bel Canto.

I liked this a lot. There are some very vitriolic reviews on goodreads but I really appreciated the beautiful writing, the involving storyline, and what Patchett has to say about families. This is my 4th Patchett and I'm not a…

Bel Canto is my favorite Ann Patchett, but this is my second favorite. Really enjoy the characters - some too good to be true - but it is fiction.

Argh, I could not get past the first chapter. I felt like Catholicism was shoved down my throat. I wanted a nice, Fiction story, not a rendition of the Bible. Do I have to be reminded of large, Catholic families, having too many children…

If you like Ann Patchett, and I do, you'll like this story. I found it engaging from page one. A gentle story about the intricacies of family.

An accident on a snowy Cambridge street propels two families onto different paths. There are plenty of mysteries in this story - not to mention some exquisite characters who will steal your heart.

As is her forte, Patchett creates an interesting array of characters in Run, gives them extensive backgrounds and brings them to life on the printed page. She lets them breath in an interesting situation that is realistically portrayed and…

Another good book by A. Patchett. It kept my attention, had a good twists and, of course, is beautifully written.

An author new to me: I put in a request after seeing reader reviews of the book on this site (yay! OPL). Takes its time getting started, and a coincidence central to the plot is a bit far-fetched, but the characters are real and true, and…

Another captivating novel by Ann Patchett. This one was slower for me to warm to, with underdeveloped characters leaving you wanting more... but in the end, capturing the heartbreak and deep heartfelt love that comes with loving and…

Engaging story with great character development. The final chapter was not what I expected. Beautiful story, although somewhat unsettling.
