I enjoyed this book. The author is a conservative and I am a liberal so I felt a lot of his view was highly partisan and he might have done better just sticking to the facts, but it was well written and kept my interest, and I learned from it.

I asked the man at the desk where the book Killing Reagan was. He directed me to the fiction aisle and look under O. I said it was not fiction. He asked what was it then. I said a bio. He then directed me to the bio section and told me to look under O. It is filed by author. I tried to tell him that was not how biographies are shelved. He told me they were. Couldn't just look it up in his computer???

Book takes a look at Ronald Reagan’s background, his rise to the Oval Office, his strategic initiatives—both successes and failures—and the influence Nancy Reagan asserted on his schedule and the people surrounding him. It also tells about John Hinckley Jr’s life before and after he shot those sic shots that changed people’s lives.

I read this book because my brother reads these 'Killing' titles and the new MN Senate Majority Leader said on TPT’s Almanac that Reagan’s way of leading might mirror a Trump presidency. I'd forgotten much about the Reagan years. Scary to be reminded. Written for general audiences in easy entertaining style.

"The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." Most definitely.

Reagan seemed like a good person but Iran-Contra, Trickle Down Economics, and taking away tax credits for housing should be added in to the Halo Effect ascribed to this president. Also, it seemed like Nancy was running the country toward the end of his second term with the effects of Alzheimer's disease becoming more pronounced.

Interesting read, but any objective mind who lived through the Reagan presidency will immediately see it for what it is: A mostly contrived effort to sell another book. You will read many reviews from persons on this website who A: Have not read the book, B: HATE reagan... and justifiably so since Reagan despised everything these hating, bleeding heart, entitlement class socialist types represent.
The book is not a historical work by any means, but it is an entertaining read that will hold your attention.

A governor who destroyed the greatest public school system in US history...ate grapes on the Sacramento steps [grape boycott], to insult Caesar Chavez and the migrant workers...sold arms to Iran to fund his atrocious war in El Salvador...busted unions in America [Air Traffic Controllers]...created the economic theory ‘Trickle Down’ which 37 years later became the 2008 meltdown...took credit for the collapse of Communism [Bin Lauden warned Soviet’s that 14 years in Afghanistan would bankrupt USSR]...the list is immense and many Americans cringe with this ceaseless idolatry for a Hollywood actor acting his way through statehouse to White House...how this president was not immpeached is truly a ‘miracle’
Can you say ‘Teflon President’!

As President Reagan once said: "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." (And very well documented, indeed.)

A VERY easy read and well worth the time . Ronald Reagan was once a Liberal Democrat and not as conservative as most individuals believe --- especially on a majority of the social issues . The United States of America really needed him in 1980 and his military build - up saved our great nation AND the world . Oh , and Ronald Reagan proved once and for all that budget deficits do NOT matter .

Excellent book. President Reagan loved the United States and changed the world for the better. He made Americans proud to be American. It's sad to see the country slowly marching towards socialism.

You may not remember some things because the entire "Killing" series, credited to Bill O'Reilly and written by others, are works of biographical FICTION.

Essentially a biography of President Reagan. An easy read and some things that I did not know or remember.
