I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this one, but I ended up really liking it. It's the first book in Graham's Krewe of Hunters series, and it focuses on a paranormal investigation team as they try to uncover the mystery of an old house in New Orleans that was previously the site of a serial killer's grisly crimes. The paranormal aspect was very well done. It was very creepy and chilling, but it wasn't just all about ghosts and spirits. Sometimes I have a hard time getting into paranormal stuff because it can get corny or ridiculous, but Graham struck a good balance between creepy ghost material and more real dangers (such as the threats posed by the Aryan group and the cult). Graham also vividly evoked modern (and post-Katrina) New Orleans as the backdrop for the book. I'm definitely interested in picking up more of this series.
